FutureHeights' 2019 annual meeting is April 10

On April 10, FutureHeights will present its 2019 annual meeting at the newly renovated Cleveland Heights High School, 13263 Cedar Road.

FutureHeights, a nonprofit community development corporation, strives to engage Heights residents in order to ensure a vibrant and sustainable future for Cleveland Heights and University Heights.

This year’s meeting will discuss the concepts of place-making and place-attachment as a sustainable means of community development and revitalization in the Heights, and in cities and communities everywhere.

FutureHeights will also report on its activities and accomplishments, as well as its vision for the future, with help from a panel of speakers that includes Nelson Beckford, the program director for neighborhood revitalization and engagement at the Cleveland Foundation; David Jurca, an associate director of Kent State University’s Cleveland Urban Design Collaborative; and participants of the Making Our Own Spaces (MOOS) program, which focuses on engaging and empowering middle and high school students with the skills to transform their neighborhoods' public spaces.

The event, which begins at 7 p.m., is free and open to the public, but reservations are required. For more information and to RSVP, visit www.futureheights.org or call 216-320-1423.
