League announces historic candidate forums for historic election
The Leagues of Women Voters of Cleveland Area, Cuyahoga Area and Shaker Heights are collaborating to present 15 nonpartisan Candidate Forums to introduce the County
Executive and District Council candidates who will be on the Nov. 2 ballot.
In November 2009, Cuyahoga County residents voted to restructure the three-Commissioner County government to an Executive-Council form of government. On Nov. 2, 2010, for the first time in county history, voters will choose the Cuyahoga County Executive who will lead the new government, and their own County Council District Representative among the eleven newly-formed districts. All Cuyahoga County voters now live in one of these new districts and should become familiar with its boundaries. Maps, your voting location, ward, and precinct are available on the Board of Elections website: www.boe.cuyahogacounty.us, or by calling the Board of Elections at 216-443-3298. Voter Registration deadline for the Nov. 2 election is Oct. 4, 2010.
League nonpartisan forums include a brief statement by each candidate, followed by a question and answer session with written questions from the audience. Questions are screened by a League committee for relevance and to avoid duplication. For more information, visit www.LWVCuyahogaArea.org .
