Scouting for America provides programs for young people that contribute to personal development, community engagement, and the cultivation of essential life skills.

Voter Education Forum Disinformation, AI, and Elections: How to Separate Fact from Fiction in 2024

Are you worried that deep fakes, artificial intelligence and disinformation may be influencing voter decisions? Are you concerned about election integrity and wonder if there may be an element of truth in the claims of election fraud? How are you feeling about the state of democracy here in the US and globally?
Dean Jackson, a researcher specializing in democracy, media and technology, and
Lee Jordan, respected news anchor and award-winning journalist,
will lead a conversation on these and other topics to get you informed and prepared.

Gallery Concert: Piano Duo, Ralitsa Georgieva and Caroline Oltmanns

Join Heights Arts on September 12, at 7:00 pm for an exciting Gallery Concert featuring Piano Duo, Ralitsa Georgieva and Caroline Oltmanns.

Ralitsa Georgieva, a pianist with degrees from the State Conservatory of Music in Bulgaria and the Cleveland Institute of Music, has been a faculty member there since 2007. She has won the Steinway Top Teacher Award three times and the Laura Putnam Award for supporting foster care youth. Ralitsa founded Music for Our Children, a concert series that donates proceeds to charities like UNICEF and Ronald McDonald House, and co-founded Songs of the Books to aid crisis nurseries. She has performed at major festivals and collaborated with prominent musicians and orchestras.

Caroline Oltmanns is a pianist, presenter and pedagogue. A Professor of Piano at Youngstown State University, she regularly presents master classes and workshops in the United States and abroad. Her newest solo concept album WIND was released in 2022 on the Filia Mundi Label.

Caroline Oltmanns is a Fulbright Scholar, and an International Steinway Artist. She earned her Diploma at the Staatliche Musikhochschule Freiburg and her Master's and Doctoral degrees at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles.

While this concert is pay-what-you-can admittance, cost is not to be a barrier for any who would like to attend.
