Reckoning with Our Racial Past: Conversations for Our Shared Future panel discussion

Reckoning with Our Racial Past: Conversations for Our Shared Future is a new traveling program series hosted by the Smithsonian. The Smithsonian is going to cities across the U.S. to host dynamic conversations related to race and racism, and how access to critical resources, such as capital and health care, can shape communities. Moderated by Soledad O’Brien, the series will bring together community leaders to discuss the challenges and opportunities facing the community in which each conversation is held.
The first program was held in Charlotte, N.C., Nov. 6. The series makes its second stop in Cleveland on Tuesday, Dec. 5. The program will feature a panel conversation about the racial wealth gap and related issues impacting the local community, as well as a spoken word performance from Karamu House. The program is free and open to the public, but advance registration is required.

Jorge Zamanillo, founding director, Smithsonian’s National Museum of the American Latino
Tiffany Eubanks-Saunders, head of diverse segments for the Private Bank at Bank of America

Jenice Contreras, president & CEO of the Northeast Ohio Hispanic Center for Economic Development
