The Thriving Youth Series brings together professionals, students, and thought leaders in the field of out-of-school time programming. The series will empower and inspire participants to enhance their programs and make a lasting impact on youth development. The series is a collaboration between the City of Cleveland, Open Doors Academy, Starting Point, Youth Opportunities Unlimited, and Cleveland Metropolitan School District.

Covering the Border War: How the News Media Create Crime, Race, Nation, and the USA-Mexico Divide examines border newspaper coverage of the USA-Mexico divide and how the nation and immigration are racially imagined in crime news discourse, where whiteness is associated with order and brownness is associated with disorder in a variety of imaginative, nativist ways.
