2023 Cuyahoga County Solar Co-op Online and In Person Info Session
6:00 PM - 7:00 PM
Join the 2023 Cuyahoga County Solar Co-Op!
In recent years, rooftop solar has become an increasingly common and affordable way to reduce household energy costs while decreasing reliance on fossil fuels. Now, residents of Cuyahoga County have an opportunity to join the County’s 2023 Solar Co-op. The Co-op – which is offered in partnership with Solar United Neighbors (a nonprofit solar advocacy group) – enables its members to save money by negotiating below market rate group pricing. In addition to the existing 30% federal tax credit, co-op members generally save 15-20% off the cost of their system.
Members receive an education concerning all aspects of going solar and vendor-neutral support throughout the entire process. There is no cost or obligation. Members may quit the Co-op at any time.
Join the movement by attending a free online or in person info session. Learn about the tax incentives, financing options, technical advances, costs and warranties batteries and car charging ports. 2022 was our most successful year. Roughly 500 households joined the Co-op. Over 100 have gone solar. Each of these households is predicted to save an estimated $10,000 - $25,000 over 25 years. In addition, participants have significantly reduced the amount of carbon and other pollutants that they emit into the environment.
Spread the word! Share this information with friends and neighbors. Our next information session is scheduled for Wednesday December 14 at Rocky River Public Library 1600 Hampton Road, Rocky River, Ohio at 6pm. Also available via zoom at http://solarunitedneighbors.org/cuyahoga then click on the “Events” tab.

Voter Disenfranchisement: Why Some Votes Get To Count For More
7:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Across the nation, politicians, candidates, and activists are launching a wave of voter suppression efforts, attempting to use the law to restrict the vote. Acknowledging these many growing challenges we face as a society when looking to encourage voter engagement, these community organizations have risen to the challenge by centering and prioritizing education to increase mobilization. Harmful legislation, such as redistricting laws and gerrymandering often deter citizens from casting their votes because of confusion. Join Angelique Gates of Cleveland Votes and panelists as we discuss these barriers, offer insight on ways to combat these oppositions, and share other tools to help increase voter capacity skills within your neighborhood!
