APRIL 17, 2018

  • State payments for facilities renovation
  • Equity Task Force

President James Posch, Vice President Dan Heintz, Malia Lewis and Beverly Wright were present. Jodi Sourini was present by phone. Superintendent Dr. Talisa Dixon and Treasurer Scott Gainer were also present. The meeting began at 7:10 p.m. after an executive session and adjourned at 9:10 p.m.

State payments for facilities renovation

Jeff Tuckerman from the Ohio Facilities Construction Commission updated the board on state payments for the high school and middle school construction. When state funds would be received and the amount of those funds were discussed. Because the high school project is complete, the money for it can be processed. The board asked many questions concerning how the payment amount is calculated.

Equity Task Force

Dr. Sandy Womack, Lisa Hunt, Rachael Coleman and James Kravitz of the Equity Task Force explained the equity training workshops they presented in the schools. The task force is implementing the equity policy that the board recently adopted. They used the professional growth LEAD Tool (Leadership for Equity Assessment & Development) to survey the workshop participants. They also presented their future plans. More information and resources are available in the BoardDocs Agenda for April 17 on the district website: http://www.chuh.org/BoardofEducation.aspx.

Upcoming meetings are a regular board meeting on May 1 and a work session on May 15. The meetings are at 7 p.m. at the board of education offices.
