Cleveland Heights-University Heights Board of Education meeting highlights

DECEMBER 6, 2016

Library board interviews and election

All board of education members were present: Kal Zucker, president; Ron Register, vice president; James Posch, Eric Silverman, and Beverly Wright.

The purpose of this meeting was to interview candidates who had applied to fill a single open seat, for a seven-year term, on the Heights Libraries board of trustees.

The candidates were Max Gerboc, Nicholi Evans and Russell Rucky.

Each candidate met individually with school board members and responded to the same set of questions, which covered a range of topics, including the candidate’s ability to complete a seven-year term, what qualities the candidate brings to the library board, [the candidate’s understanding of] the relationship between the school board and the library board, challenges the library board faces, the candidate’s experience, and more.

After discussion, the board elected Max Gerboc to fill the open seat.

Upcoming meetings

Regular board of education meetings are scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 20, and Tuesday, Jan. 3, both at 7 p.m.
