Heights Barbershoppers

The Heights Barbershoppers performed. They were rated first nationally and second internationally at the Youth Chorus Barbershop Festivals in California.

Ohio Improvement Process

Andrea Celico, assistant superintendent, reported on the district’s plan and work on the Ohio Improvement Process. This plan is based on research, collaboration and collective responsibility. The district has chosen goals for improvement in both language arts and mathematics.

Phase I high school facilities

Steve Zannoni from Project Management Consultants/Regency Construction, the owners’ representative, reported on progress in the high school facilities phase I work. The work needed to make Wiley Middle School ready for high school students is in the planning stage. He reported on the community facilities meeting; the next meeting is Feb. 26.

Facilities Accountability Committee

The Facilities Accountability Committee selected officers, with Seku Sahibs as chair and Jim Cull as vice chair.

Football stadium

The board discussed draft plans for the football stadium, including whether to use grass or artificial turf. The decision on the type of turf does not have to be made until April.
