Revive celebrates seventh anniversary Oct. 19

Revive, Cleveland Heights's independent, fair trade clothing boutique, celebrates its seven-year anniversary on Saturday, Oct. 19, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Lisa Dunn, Revive's founder, said, “We are really proud to be celebrating seven years of offering hand-crafted, socially responsible collections at our Cleveland Heights store. This has been a labor of love and we are successful thanks to our loyal customers and the support from the community.”

Revive’s will mark its anniversary by offering patrons gifts with purchase, and the chance to participate in drawings for free merchandise.

The store will also debut a new line of leather shoes handcrated in Peru, Nisolo Shoes. Dunn said Revive will be the first retailer in Ohio to carry the Nisolo line, and added, "What better way to celebrate seven years of social consciousness than to bring yet another amazing group to our ever growing list of artisans? I know that patrons will be impressed by the incredible detail of these handcrafted shoes.”

According to Dunn, Nisolo’s founders spent time in Northern Peru and noticed how "tragically impoverished" the local families were, and how much they needed assistance. The Nisolo team realized there were more than 3,000 small-scale shoemakers who were struggling to make a living, despite the beauty and quality of their products. Nisolo’s stated aim is "to redefine what success means for the people of Northern Peru," and the company is helping artisans and their families reach a global market.

Offering sustainable goods from around the globe. Revive’s handmade collections include eco-friendly products made from recycled, organic and sustainable materials. All of the items Revive offers are fair trade, meaning that the artisans who make the products receive fair wages, helping to break the cycle of poverty and to preserve traditional craftsmanship.
