UH council and mayoral candidates to lead off Oct. 8 candidate forum

The CH-UH Chapter of The League of Women Voters (LWV) Cuyahoga Area and FutureHeights will host and moderate a nonpartisan candidate forum on Tuesday, Oct. 8, from 7–9:30 p.m. at the Cleveland Heights Community Center, at One Monticello Blvd.

All candidates for Cleveland Heights and University Heights city councils and for the Cleveland Heights-University Heights Board of Education whose names will appear on the Nov. 5 ballot have been invited. The candidates for University Heights City Council will begin the evening at 7 p.m., followed by the CH-UH school board candidates at 7:55 p.m. The candidates for Cleveland Heights City Council will close out the evening beginning at 8:40 p.m.

Members of the public will have an opportunity to submit questions in writing to LWV and FutureHeights volunteers who will review them in order to avoid duplication, provide a diversity of questions, and ensure readability and appropriateness.

The City of Cleveland Heights will broadcast the Cleveland Heights City Council portion of the forum on its cable channel, Channel 20, beginning Oct. 14 at 3 p.m. and 8 p.m., until the election. FutureHeights will post video of the entire forum on its Vimeo channel. An audio recording of the forum will be available on the LWV website.

Neither the League of Women Voters nor FutureHeights supports or endorses any political party or candidate for office.

[Note: The order of candidates set forth in this article is different from the originally announced order, published in an earlier article about this candidates forum.]
