Cleveland Heights seeks nominations for Community Improvement and Historic Preservation awards

The City of Cleveland Heights asks residents to nominate a "deserving homeowner"—or themselves—for the city's Community Improvement or Tender Loving Care awards.

For a property to qualify, the improvements must be visible from a public right-of-way and must make the area more attractive. Residents can nominate a property for restoration, renovation, an addition, outdoor furniture or sitting areas, lighting, new construction, signage and painting, and excellent maintenance. For a nomination form, call 216-291-2323 or download one.

In addition, the Cleveland Heights Landmark Commission is accepting nominations for its annual Historic Preservation Awards. The commission is looking for properties that have undergone recent exterior and/or interior preservation, restoration, rehabilitation, adaptive use, landscape restoration, or sympathetic additions. For a nomination form, call 216-291-4885 or download one.

The deadline for nominations for both awards is Aug. 30.

Awards will be presented at the Community Improvement Awards Ceremony in October.
