CH City Council expected to vote to appoint Briley new city manager at July 15 meeting

At tonight's meeting of the Cleveland Heights City Council, council members are expected to vote on a resolution appointing Tanisha R. Briley as the new city manager, and authorizing an employment agreement with Briley. The city announced the selection of Briley on June 14, following a 14-month search for a new city manager. She was the assistant city manager of Davenport, Iowa, and is a Cleveland native.

The meeting will begin at 7:30 p.m. at Cleveland Heights City Hall.

The meeting agenda also includes a resolution (second reading) approving the adoption of the 2014 tax budget.

The director of finance report includes resolutions providing for the issuance and sale of notes, in anticipation of the issuance of bonds, for the purpose of acquiring computer hardware; motorized equipment; construction and installation of water lines; and reconstruction, resurfacing and otherwise improving city streets, including Monticello Boulevard and Taylor Road.

After adjournment, council members and staff will stay to discuss questions informally with residents.
