Nighttown opens new four-season patio and dog-friendly court
Nighttown’s award-winning outdoor dining space has just gotten even better. Brendan Ring, the restaurant’s owner, purchased a small portion of the parking lot to the rear of the property from the city. Included in the deal was the property on which his original outdoor bar and patio (Stephen's Green) sat, which the city had leased to Ring. “An added bonus,” said Ring, “is that the city will totally repave the parking lot in late July. It’s pretty beat up right now.”
The new bright and airy patio seats 50 and includes its own bar, making it ideal for private parties. Ring said he’s ensured his guests' comfort for all types of Cleveland weather by installing overhead heating, radiant-floor heating, and state-of-the-art bio-fueled “fireplaces” in the walls that display a nine-inch flame when in use. He also has plans to install an overhead misting system to keep guests cool in hot weather.
Ring also relocated the restaurant’s dumpsters and enclosed an ugly cooler to create a separate outdoor space just for dog lovers. “Owners can dine at tables on the patio, while the kitchen supplies bowls of water and occasional food scraps for their pets,” he said.
