DeAloia hosts “Social Media for Job Seekers," a Careers In Transition seminar

As part of a monthly series on seeking the right job opportunity, Careers In Transition is presenting “The Secrets of Social Media” on Saturday, July 17. Mike DeAloia will host the program as he looks at how-to-use the medium in a job search.

DeAloia is the practice leader of the Local Advocacy Practice (LAP) which specializes in identifying incentives for companies looking to expand. In addition, LAP has a social media strategy service for interested clients and has formed a partnership with Corporate College to teach the principles of the medium. Previously, he was the senior executive for technology development or the “Tech Czar” for two mayors in Cleveland.

Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter are part of an ever-expanding group of social mediums that have revolutionized the way we communicate. DeAloia will show participants how to build their own personal “brand” and how social media is a better way of staying in-touch with companies that are key to a job search.

From the college student to the semiretired and everyone in between, Careers in Transition is a volunteer group of human capital professionals that provides advice, guidance and council to anyone needing help and direction in finding ones work/life balance.

The session will be held on Saturday, July 17 from 9 to 11 a.m., in the chapel at Fairmount Presbyterian Church, 2757 Fairmount Blvd. in Cleveland Heights. Reservations are not necessary. Donations are accepted.
