Being part of the solution just got easier

New listing to highlight local volunteer opportunities

Finding volunteer opportunities in Cleveland Heights and University Heights has become a lot easier thanks to the Heights Observer’s Volunteer Match.

Found online at heightsobserver.org and in the printed newspaper, this regular column lists ways for people to give of their time and talent to many worthy organizations and causes around town.

“We’re excited about this because it shows incredible potential for bringing people together to do good,” says FutureHeights director Deanna Bremer Fisher, who oversees the new publication. “The Observer promotes citizen involvement and what better way to do that than to provide a go-to place for information about serving your community?”

A successful match has already been made. Cleveland Heights Meals on Wheels President Art Glassman reports that his organization picked up a new volunteer not long after an article requesting assistance appeared in the Heights Observer. “We appreciate this new medium for presenting our service and our volunteer needs directly to the community that we serve,” said Glassman.

Submit your organization’s volunteer needs at heightsobserver.org or call the FutureHeights office at 320-1423.
