Guilded Age Givers & Shakers--Walking Tour

At the turn of 1900, Cleveland had more millionaires living in Cleveland than any other city in the nation. On this tour, learn about rich, famous and not-so-famous Clevelanders and how their philanthropy benefitted the city, nation and world. Dan Ruminski, Cleveland’s storyteller, will lead this walking tour Reservations required. $20.00, Srs. 62 and older, Veterans, 1st Responders, $18.00, children ages 3-12 $10.00. Tour begins and ends at the James A. Garfield Memorial.

So, you want to be a writer? …Join us on Saturday, May 11 from, 10:30am to 3:30pm to explore the art of writing in diverse genres and be inspired by local authors. We are thrilled to have CSU writing professor Charlotte Morgan, writer, editor and journalist Annie Zaleski, historical fiction and horror writer D.M. Pulley, and Cleveland born author and film maker Brendan Whitt sharing their expertise for the event. Share your words with us!

Doan Brook Spring Botany Hike

Looking to enhance your knowledge of local trees and spring ephemerals? Join Dr. Ted Auch and the Doan Brook Watershed Partnership for an educational walk around Lower Lake focused on identification techniques for common native and naturalized trees and plants. Additionally, you will learn why different species of trees grow where they do and how trees/plants relate to storm water and pollution control.
