Dobama Theatre presents the regional premiere of APPROPRIATE by Branden Jacobs-Jenkins, directed by Nathan Motta

Winner of the 2014-15 Obie Award for Best Play

When the patriarch of the Lafayette clan dies, the family is forced to descend upon the crumbling Arkansas homestead to settle accounts. As the three adult children rummage through a mountain of hoarded relics, they spar over a lifetime of junk, past relationship issues, and inherited debts. But when they make a disturbing discovery among their father's possessions, the reunion takes a turn for the volatile, forcing every member to confront their family history and each other. APPROPRIATE is a thought-provoking whirlwind of explosive surprises and crackling confrontations.

APPROPRIATE features Tracee Patterson*, Ursula Cataan*, Tom Woodward*, Abraham McNeil Adams+, Kelly McCready*, Jacob Eeg, and Ireland Derry.

Tribute to THE BAND 50th Anniversary of the “Music From Big Pink” Featuring The THE BAND Band
8:00 PM - 10:30 PM
The THE BAND Band will perform a Tribute to THE BAND as they celebrate the 50th anniversary of the “Music From Big Pink” on Friday, April 27, 2018 at 8:00 PM with doors opening at 6:00.
THE BAND’s iconic debut album, named for the house in upstate New York where many of the songs were written, established THE BAND as one of the preeminent bands of their generation, and forged a new sound in rock and roll that would come to be known as Americana. Many of their best-known songs are on Music From Big Pink, including "The Weight," "Chest Fever," and "I Shall Be Released.” In addition, their musical partnership with Bob Dylan is on full display, including 3 Dylan-penned songs and featuring his painting on the album cover.
While iconic roots rock group THE BAND may be long gone from the stage, The THE BAND Band is keeping their sound and spirit alive and well with authentic, true-to-form renditions of the legendary repertoire.
