Active Yoga ~'~ Loving Hands Yoga
6:15 PM - 7:15 PM
Active Yoga – This is a moderate-intensity class, perfect for those with previous yoga experience. In this class we gradually increase our heart rate, flow aerobically through various poses, and work on developing strength, flexibility, balance, and stamina. We focus on the yoga principles of alignment, connecting our breath with our movement, and practicing present-moment awareness. The level of challenge is designed around the students’ desires and abilities.

Class Fees
$15 per class / New clients: Your first class is free!
Students pay at the beginning of the session for all but 3 classes in the session, and pay as they go for the remaining classes in the session. This allows for up to 3 missed classes in the session. I am not able to offer make-up classes.

Single drop-in class: $15 (For those who want to try it out before signing up for a session. Please call for space availability before coming to a class)

His book length poem Cheikh Anta Diop: Poem for the LIving has just been published in a new edition by Indo American Books

A highly recognized poet and motivational speaker, Prof. Okantah has appeared in various locations throughout the USA and West Africa. As a performer, he has worked in a variety of musical situations, including time as Griot for the Iroko African Drum & Dance Society and in an ongoing collaboration with the Cavani String Quartet. Currently, he is the leader of the Muntu Kuntu Energy Ensemble – a four-piece performance group.

Mary E. Weems, Ph.D. is a poet, playwright, author, performer, and imagination-intellect theorist. Dr. Weems is the author and/or co-editor of several books including Blackeyed: Plays and Monologuesand For(e)closure which was a finalist for the Ohioana Book Award in 2013. She is the 2015 recipient of the Cleveland Arts Prize Emerging Artist award and was the Cleveland Heights Poet Laureate in 2008-2009.

Her latest book, Blackeyed is a compilation of Weems' work about the Black experience over the last fifteen years. The book intersects with critical race theory because the majority of this work positions race at the center of the experiences of the fictional or fictionalized characters. Embedded in these chapters are the interweaving of personal and ancestral stories, news reports, informal conversations, observations, interviews, and online research expressed in language unapologetically Black, critical, reflexive, and proud.
