This workshop, Plotting, Conflict, Dialogue and Detail, will help novelists plot out their novels from start to finish, create conflicts for their protagonist, and help their characters navigate through them.

Lunch & Learn: "Epistles from the Mythic Past"

Join us after Shabbat morning services, about 12:15 PM for a Lunch and Learn with Noah Bickart, Ph.D., an expert on Rabbinic Judaism and currently a Visiting Assistant Professor at John Carroll University. His talk is entitled “Epistles from the Mythic Past: Anxiety and Power in Talmudic Stories about Letter Writing.” The Lunch and Learn will begin after services, about 12:15 pm, and is free and open to all, but non-members are asked to call the synagogue for reservations, 216.320.9667. (The lunch is vegetarian-friendly.)

Death of President James A. Garfield - Lecture

Brandy Schillace, Ph.D., Public Engagement Fellow from the Dittrick Medical History Center, will examine the unnecessary death of President Garfield and the controversy that surrounded the doctors who cared for him. Following the discussion at Daffodil Hall, guests will board Lolly the Trolley for a visit and tour of the Garfield Memorial. Reservations required. $35.00 per person. Light refreshments served.
