Replacing Switches & Outlets Common Electrical Repair Workshop
7:00 PM - 9:00 PM
Does your house have loose outlets? Outlets that just don’t work? Temperamental light switch? Stop making excuses—they bug you! And they’re reasonably simple to learn how to replace. Spend a couple hours with us and learn how:
• single-pole switches & common outlets are wired into a circuit
• to recognize other types of switches and outlets sometimes found in older homes
• to use a tester to determine the hot wire
• to strip a wire and connect it to a switch or outlet, so you can replace an existing single-pole switch or common outlet
• to diagnose and correct common causes of non-working lights, single-pole switches, and common outlets

You’ll use tools to strip wire and wire outlets and switches yourself. We’ll also talk about the protection provided by GFCIs and AFCIs, and you’ll learn how three-way switches are wired into a circuit.

Workshop Fee: $40 (2 hours of instruction)
Registration at hrrc-ch.org. You can register for this workshop without pre-paying. Pay on the evening of the workshop. Select “Enroll as unpaid” when you register and pay the night of the workshop. (Your seat is not guaranteed until you pay.)
