Presentation by founder of Ohio End of Life Options
10:30 AM
In 2017, Ohio Senator Charleta Tavares (D – Columbus) will introduce legislation based on Death with Dignity laws found in four other states. Northeast Ohio resident Lisa Vigil Schattinger, MSN, RN – founder of Ohio End of Life Options – will share her family’s powerful experience with Oregon’s law at this community presentation.

Medical aid-in-dying is an end-of-life option that allows mentally competent, terminally ill people to voluntarily and legally request and receive a prescription medication from their physician to hasten their death in a peaceful, humane, and dignified manner.

Mrs. Vigil Schattinger has previously been invited to share her experience at The Cleveland Clinic, The Mayo Clinic’s national 26th Annual Hematology/Oncology Review Course and on The Sound of Ideas, 90.3 WCPN ideastream, Northeast Ohio’s NPR’s affiliate station.
She is on the board of the national organization, Death with Dignity National Center.

Ohio End of Life Options is a 501 (c)(3), nonprofit, non-sectarian organization that brings education to Ohio about the Death with Dignity laws in Oregon, Washington, Vermont, and California.
