Heights Libraries Centennial Celebration Kick-Off
2:00 PM - 4:00 PM
The historic Coventry Village branch is the setting for our 2016 Centennial Celebration Kick-Off. Local author Mary Doria Russell will honor the Library with a special talk, we will bury a time capsule, and enjoy birthday cake, live music, and children’s activities. All are welcome!

Cellocentric Concert
2:00 PM - 3:00 PM
Cellocentric is an eclectic trio that features the music of Doug Wood with contributions of cello, mandolin and bass. For the past 16 years, Doug has been performing his original instrumental guitar compositions across the country and has been heard on NPR stations nationwide. This performance will offer original songs, cleverly crafted cover tunes from the Beatles and Simon & Garfunkel, and even the classic “Spiderman” theme. Refreshments to follow the concert. Free and open to the public.

Close Encounters: A Gypsy Mixer

Heights Arts ends its Close Encounters, Season 10 chamber music series with an energetic mashup of classical favorites!

Gypsy music has been a fascinating influence on many composers throughout the centuries, including Joseph Haydn, Ludwig van Beethoven, David Popper, and Max Moszkowski . The virtuoso band of Cleveland Orchestra players Alicia Koelz, Isabel Trautwein, violins, and Tanya Ell, cello, with pianist Patti Wolf present a program of musical abandon at the spectacular Bop Stop in Ohio City. $15-$55 advance tickets only via Heights Arts website, 216-371-3457, or in person at the 2175 Lee Rd. gallery.
