Gentle Yoga *FREE* Loving Hands Yoga
12:30 PM - 8:30 PM
Gentle Yoga – This class provides all the benefits of yoga, but at a more relaxed pace. It is perfect for beginners, or experienced yogis who prefer a slower practice. We work on our strength, breathing, balance, and flexibility through gentle, fluid poses and stretching. Meditation exercises at the beginning and end of the class help to release stress and worry. We also discuss methods for bringing peace and relaxation into our daily lives. This class provides a peaceful and relaxing way to end the evening!
Class Fees

*** Existing clients: Refer a friend and receive one free class!
New Clients: $148.50 for Winter and Fall, $162 for Spring and Summer
Returning Clients: $165 for Winter and Fall, $180 for Spring and Summer

"A Conversation After a Funeral" dialogue theatre

An original play by CH author,Dr. Mary Weems, is an imagined conversation between Emmett Till and Anne Frank, two teenagers radically affected by the events of their times, at the conclusion of Till's funeral. Sponsored by Heights Community Congress,and starring J'Vaugh Briscoe and Miranda Coble, the tragic circumstances of these teenagers lives lends itself to meaningful discussion in the talk back session afterwards. Discussion will be facilitated by the highly skilled Dr. Tameka Taylor of Compass Consulting Services. A complimentary light supper will be served in the church's fellowship room at 6:00 p.m.

Artists have always responded to war, often on the basis of their own direct experiences. We will look at works that reference warfare, including the American Civil War, exploring a range of styles, media, and approaches that, over centuries, bring us face to face with the causes and consequences of armed conflict. Registration is required and opens on January 7. Part of the Tales and Chronicles of the Civil War series

Active Yoga – This is a moderate-intensity class, perfect for those with previous yoga experience. In this class we gradually increase our heart rate, flow aerobically through various poses, and work on developing strength, flexibility, balance, and stamina. We focus on the yoga principles of alignment, connecting our breath with our movement, and practicing present-moment awareness. The level of challenge is designed around the students’ desires and abilities.
