Cleveland Heights High School Farewell Ceremony & Groundbreaking
6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Students, staff, alumni, area leaders and the Heights community will gather in the CHHS courtyard to celebrate the school’s history and break ground for major renovations set to begin this summer.

The event will begin at 6 p.m. with refreshments and music from the Instrumental Music Department. Presentations and remarks will begin at 6:30 p.m. after a welcome address from Superintendent Dr. Talisa L. Dixon. The program will include a brief overview of Heights High’s present and future, followed by a retrospective with a photo slideshow and student-produced video interviews with alumni. Next, the high school principals and student ambassadors will place hand-picked items into the time capsule, joined by the eldest Heights High alumni in the audience.

Cleveland Heights Mayor Wilcox is slated to speak to the value of strong public schools in a community.

After an overview of the details of the renovation plans, the Groundbreaking Ceremony will commence with District leaders, the facilities team and students manning the shovels. At the end of the evening, the marching band and Gospel Choir will each provide music, and attendees can stay to socialize and speak with the design and construction teams.

Everyone is encouraged to attend, including children. Refreshments and face painting will also be available.

In the event of rain, the ceremony will be moved inside to the auditorium.
