Senior Citizen Happenings--John & Karen Godt

John and Karen Godt, in 2004 started Hope for Honduras Children Foundation, to bring food and medical supplies, build schools, teach English, inspire hope, in a land of gut-wrenching Third World poverty. In its first decade “the Foundation has touched the lives of hundreds upon hundreds of abandoned Honduran orphans and other young children,” a tribute to the efforts of countless volunteers from America.

Sesame Street Block Party
6:30 PM - 8:00 PM
Sesame Street comes to Cleveland Heights! Come celebrate Sesame Street's 45th anniversary by experiencing first hand a place "where the air is sweet." We'll play games, do trivia, meet the people in our neighborhood, and take a nostalgic look back at a show that enriches and educate us all. Families register for a 30 minute time slot. Each entry should specify the number of people in their party. Space is limited, and please arrive early! Registration begins Sept. 4.

Why "Food Not Lawns"? An Introduction to Suburban Permaculture

Presented by Mari Keating of University Heights, founder of Food Not Lawns Cleveland and certified permaculture designer. Food Not Lawns advocates replacing lawns with edible gardens to create thriving human and animal habitat that alters our relationship to the land where we live, reduces our carbon footprint, increases our health and well-being and creates community one yard at a time. Registration is recommended and begins on 9/4/2014.

"Interior Decorating Made Easy" will cover a broad range of decorating subjects in easy-to-understand terms. You will learn:
* Decorators' tricks-of-the-trade
* Decorating guidelines and tips
* How to use color and pattern
* Tips for decorating on a budget
* How to re-arrange what you already have
* Ways to get organized and manage clutter
* How and where to shop inexpensively
* Decorators' "inside discounts"
* An introduction to Feng Shui decorating
* "Green" tips to save energy and money
