Active Yoga *FREE* Loving Hands Yoga

Active Yoga – This is a moderate-intensity class, perfect for those with previous yoga experience. In this class we gradually increase our heart rate, flow aerobically through various poses, and work on developing strength, flexibility, balance, and stamina. We focus on the yoga principles of alignment, connecting our breath with our movement, and practicing present-moment awareness. The level of challenge is designed around the students’ desires and abilities.

Cedar-Coventry Author Series: Murder on Mayfield

Can't get enough local crime history? Allan R. May's new true crime book, The Sly-Fanner Murders: The Birth of the Mayfield Road Mob, recounts the notorious January 1, 1920 murder of two local businessmen by members of the Cleveland Mafia and the long labors of law enforcement to bring the criminals to justice. May is an authority on the history of organized crime in the United States. Doors open at 6:30 pm.

Art Study Group: Indigenous Peoples of the Americas

In this docent-led tour of the Museum’s Native North and South American galleries, we’ll view exquisite artifacts that record culturally significant narratives, communicate political and economic power, support ritual observance, and divulge identity and affiliation. These objects demonstrate the important role of art in any society and provide a window into cultures unlike our own. Registration opens Oct 22. An On the Same Page program.

Mandel JCC Cleveland Jewish Book Festival

The Mandel JCC is pleased to announce that the opening night speakers for the 15th annual Jewish Book Festival will be nationally acclaimed authors Jonathan and Faye Kellerman and their son, Jesse.

The Kellermans will discuss their newest thrillers at the Mandel JCC, 26001 South Woodland Rd., Beachwood, November 5 at 7:30 pm. The 2014 Jewish Book Festival runs November 5-23.


Jonathan Kellerman, the New York Times best-selling author and master of psychological
suspense and his son Jesse, best-selling author of The Genius have pooled their talents to write
The Golem of Hollywood. The brilliant page-turner is filled with detection, suspense and
supernatural mystery. Faye Kellerman, also a New York Time best-selling author, joins her
husband and son on the podium to discuss her thriller, Murder 101, the latest installment of the beloved Decker and Lazarus series.

Gentle Yoga *FREE* Loving Hands Yoga

Gentle Yoga – This class provides all the benefits of yoga, but at a more relaxed pace. It is perfect for beginners, or experienced yogis who prefer a slower practice. We work on our strength, breathing, balance, and flexibility through gentle, fluid poses and stretching. Meditation exercises at the beginning and end of the class help to release stress and worry. We also discuss methods for bringing peace and relaxation into our daily lives. This class provides a peaceful and relaxing way to end the evening!
