Yoga for Lean Bodies *FREE* Loving Hands Yoga
8:00 AM - 9:00 AM
Yoga For Lean Bodies - Vinyasa (flowing) yoga is a powerful component of a healthy lifestyle that aids in creating a leaner body. We move very actively through poses in this class, keeping an elevated heart rate to help burn calories. The body awareness and present-moment awareness that we learn in yoga also help us to be more conscious of what we put into our bodies, and helps us to be gentle and accepting of ourselves along our lean body journey. This is an active level class, perfect for those with previous yoga experience or those who are already fairly physically fit.

Veterans of the Civil War Walking Tour
10:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Lake View Cemetery remembers the 150th Anniversary of the Civil War, with our Veterans of the Civil War Walking Tour. Many of the brave soldiers who fought in America’s Civil War are buried at Lake View Cemetery, including President James A. Garfield, who commanded the 42nd Ohio Volunteer Infantry and Major General Mortimer D. Leggett. Some of the other veterans we will learn about will include James Walker who perished as a result of the First Battle of Bull Run, Oliver Hazard Payne who led the 124th OVI and was seriously injured at Chickamauga and the frail 61 year old lady who organized the Northeast Ohio Soldier’s Aid Society. This tour will be led by Marjorie Wilson, local historian and active member of the Cleveland Civil War Roundtable where she also served as a member of the Executive Committee.

Lake View Cemetery, founded in 1869, is a treasure chest of discoveries in architecture, geology, sculpture, animal life and horticulture. The Cemetery’s history and heritage is filled with names of those who made great contributions to the areas and nations industrial, civic, social, and cultural development. A few examples are John D. Rockefeller, Garrett Morgan, Adela Prentiss Hughes, Jane Edna Hunter and President James A. Garfield.
Lake View offers a diverse year-round schedule of educational and cultural events. With a wide selection of interment space available for the next 100 years, Lake View is committed to maintaining the natural beauty and dignity of this historic non-sectarian cemetery.
