Morning-After Election Results

Join the Mandel School, local leaders for a morning-after look at election results
On Wednesday, Nov. 7, the Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences at Case Western Reserve University will host “The Morning After,” a discussion about the impact of the national election on local governments, nonprofit organizations and the people.
Terry Hokenstad, Distinguished University Professor, will moderate the panel. Panelists will include:
• Greg Brown, executive director, Policy-Bridge
• Amy Hanauer, executive director, Policy Matters Ohio
• Julian Rogers, Cuyahoga County Council
• Gabriella Celeste, director of child policy, The Schubert Center for Child Studies
• Dorothy Miller, director of the Flora Stone Mather Center for Women
The event will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. in the Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel Center for Community Studies, 11402 Bellflower Road. The program is free to members of the university community who pre-register; admission at the door is $15. Seating is limited, so pre-registration is strongly advised. The event is co-sponsored by the Flora Stone Mather Center, Mandel School, Policy-Bridge, Policy Matters Ohio and the Schubert Center.

HRRC Presentation: "Contracting a Repair"

Part of Home Repair Resource Center’s workshop series focusing on the needs of seniors. A participation fee of $25 will entitle homeowners age 62+ from Cleveland Heights, University Heights, and South Euclid to attend one workshop and receive a 90-minute in-home consultation with HRRC Senior Repair Specialist Wesley Walker; modest fee for additional workshops. Active Yoga *FREE* Loving Hands Yoga - This is a moderate-intensity class, perfect for those with previous yoga experience. In this class we gradually increase our heart rate, flow aerobically through various poses, and work on developing strength, flexibility, balance, and stamina. We focus on the yoga principles of alignment, connecting our breath with our movement, and practicing present-moment awareness. The level of challenge is designed around the students' desires and abilities.

Gentle Yoga *FREE* Loving Hands Yoga - This class provides all the benefits of yoga, but at a more relaxed pace. It is perfect for beginners, or experienced yogis who prefer a slower practice. We work on our strength, breathing, balance, and flexibility through gentle, fluid poses and stretching. Meditation exercises at the beginning and end of the class help to release stress and worry. We also discuss methods for bringing peace and relaxation into our daily lives. This class provides a peaceful and relaxing way to end the evening!
