2nd Annual Coventry Walk for College Students

Coventry will literally open its doors to northeast Ohio college students on September 20 from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. for its second annual Coventry Walk.

It’s no surprise that Coventry has continued to attract area college students since the 1960s. With its unique, independent shops and diverse restaurants, Coventry Village epitomizes what many people think of when they envision an area where college students would hang out.

The Coventry Walk is not only a celebration of that image but also an opportunity for college students to become familiarized with what makes a walking district important. Select merchants and restaurateurs will be providing special offers and/or discounts to college students with the presentation of college IDs.

Flyers detailing these offers will be available at the dining commons or online at www.coventryvillage.org. The sidewalks will also be lined with outside vendors who had participated in the summer Coventry Street Arts Fairs.

“We want college students to feel that Coventry is their place for shopping and dining. If they want a great haircut, need to get some dry cleaning done, make keys, paint, rent videos, need art supplies…it’s all here. They can even send flowers…Coventry has everything they need. It’s even a great place to take their parents when they’re visiting,” says Myra Orenstein, Coventry Village Special Improvement District Executive Director.

Case Western Reserve University undergraduates can hop on the circulator bus from the south side of campus and ride free to Coventry. A UCI bus also makes regular Coventry stops.

For information about news and events happening on Coventry, log on to www.coventryvillage.org.
