CATCH THE WAVE! Revive featured in Eco-Friendly Fashion Show as part of Bioneers Cleveland Conference

On Friday, October 17, 2008, an eco-friendly fashion show will be held as part of the Great Lakes Bioneers –Cleveland conference. Beginning at 6:00 pm, the event will feature Revive’s fair trade fashions along with five area boutiques offering designs created with organic and recycled materials.

The theme for the fashion show is water and the important and diverse role that it plays in the social, economic and natural environment of the Great Lakes Region.

“This conference and show coincides with our desire to highlight the positive force for awareness and change that fashion can be.” says Revive owner Lisa Dunn. “As consumers, we should acknowledge the connection between a beautiful product and the resources used to create it. When prioritizing the environmental and human elements of production, businesses and individuals can collectively make a huge difference.”

Revive Fair Trade, along with Esperanza Threads, Plato’s Closet, Ccella Bottega and Gina’s Boutique and Gallery will provide the fashions for the show. Student designed clothing from Virginia Marti College will also be represented.

Revive’s extensive collection features sustainable materials made by fairly paid individuals. Those attending the show can expect to see sustainable fashions such as:

* natural clay-dyed hemp and organic cotton apparel, made in the USA;
* clothing made out of recycled P.E.T. (Polyethylene terephthalate/plastic soda bottles) fabric, made in the USA;
* fair trade certified organic cotton jeans;
* vegetable dyed, hand printed and embroidered, organic cotton dresses;
* tote bags made woven with discarded scraps from a t-shirt factory;
* and, accessories made with recycled glass, pull tabs, juice boxes, candy wrappers and tires.

Admission is free to conference registrants and tickets are $15 at the door for outside guests who would like to attend the fashion show. Guests will enjoy gourmet local organic food and drink as part of the “Catch The Wave” party.
