Transformation Celebration
Disciples Christian Church is celebrating its name change as well as its bright vision for the future. The church at 3663 Mayfield Road (corner of Yellowstone) in Cleveland Heights is celebrating its new name with a Transformation Celebration on Sunday, September 14th. The community is invited. Worship will be at 11AM (music prelude at 10:30) followed by barbeque and entertainment from 12:30 to 2:00 PM. There will be food and fun for all. The fun will include live music, face painting, carnival games, tall puppets and a bounce house. There will also be tours of the church’s new Fireside Library as well as a display of historical memorabilia to celebrate the church’s past as Euclid Avenue Christian Church. Educational Information Exchange
Mocha Moms Cleveland-East Chapter and Heights Parent Center will co-sponsor a informational meeting about the variety of educational options available to families including public, private, charter and Montessori schools. Participating panelists are: Michael Obel-Omia, Director of the Upper School of University School, Dr. Mark Woodby, Principal of Adrian Elementary School in South Euclid, Perry White, founder and Executive Director of Citizen’s Academy, Tina Schneider, Executive Director of the Montessori School at Holy Rosary and Tracy Hill-Adognravi, Coordinator of the Family-School Connection program at Heights Parent Center. Ms. Hill Adognravi is a former Coordinator of Pupil Services in Strongsville and will discuss special education advocacy.
The panel will provide information to help parents make good decisions about their child’s educational journey. The sponsors do not endorse one option over another but seek to strengthen the ability of parents to make the best choices for their own family.
