Citizen Journalism Workshop
Learn how to write stories for the Heights Observer. Local author and former Plain Dealer columnist Eleanor Mallet will share her journalistic insights. Heights Observer Publisher Deanna Bremer Fisher will show you how to sign onto the Member Center and submit stories.
Eleanor Mallet has worked for 20 years as a journalist, at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and as a columnist at the Cleveland Plain Dealer. Her commentaries have been heard on WCPN (90.3 FM). The New York Times Magazine published her personal account of having breast cancer.
She has written two books: The Notion of Family (Orange Frazier Press, 1999), a collection of columns about her family, and Tevye's Grandchildren: Rediscovering a Jewish identity (Pilgrim Press, 2004).
She is graduate of Oberlin College. She received the Ohio Excellence in Journalism Award for column writing in 1997 from the Press Club of Cleveland.
